History

A Dayton Landmark

The STRATACACHE Tower’s steel and glass structure brings an air of classic Manhattan style to the Dayton skyline. At 30 stories tall, the building is the largest and tallest building in Dayton. The length of the building at street level extends one full city block. The tower’s full height windows afford a variety of striking views and abundant daylight.

The Result of a Vision

The building opened for business in 1972. It was a culmination of the vision of Eugene W. Kettering, the son of Charles Kettering, prolific inventor and founder of Delco Electronics Corp. Eugene Kettering envisioned the construction of a first-class office tower that would become the catalyst to the entrepreneurial growth and development of downtown Dayton.

In addition to the building’s striking exterior design, the STRATACACHE Tower features an expansive lobby with high ceilings, rich teak wood, natural stone finishes and original artwork. The tower was recently renovated with new chillers, elevators and signage throughout.
